Linerider is sliding from your browser to your Wii and DS!

If you don't know what Line Rider is by now, you need to stay in more. Here's what you need to do to catch up on the Line Rider phenomenon. The uninitiated can head over to DeviantArt and play the original. You can also check out the brand spanking new update if you want. Then go to YouTube and watch a few of the thousands of Line Rider tracks that people have created. Then cry yourself to sleep know that your track will never involve Gandalf screaming "YOU SHALL NOT PASS".

Anyways, on to the current news. inXile has announced that they have acquired the rights to Line Rider, and that it will be appearing on the Nintendo DS and Wii in the future. The titles will retain the core features of the game, and add more to it. Making tracks on the DS using the touch screen seems very interesting, and more intuitive than the mouse. Waving the Wiimote around to make tracks just comes off as odd though.

One puzzling thing is that the game will be coming out in September of 2007. If one guy can code it in Flash by himself for a project, how hard can it be for a team of programmers?
