Forget MySpace, it's time for WoWSpace

Here's an interesting idea, make a Social Networking site for anti-social people. Business Week reports in an interview with Shawn Fanning, that he plans on making a MySpace like site for people who play WoW called Rupture. The site will pull data and stats straight from World of Warcraft, and post them on your personalized page. You will also be able to instant message friends while playing, keep track of guild matters, and organize raids. There are plans to eventually incorporate other popular MMORPG's into the site as well.

If the name Shawn Fanning sounds familiar, it should. He's the guy who created Napster (hey! it's actually still running!), a program that pretty much revolutionized file sharing. Will his new start up fare better than World of Datecraft? Unlike World of Datecraft, I think that this site appeals to more of the WoW community than World of Datecraft because almost every player would find it useful. With 7.5 Million WoW players out there, he may be on to something.
